The Alex Focus Charity Foundation was founded by Mr Foday Fofanah [ known as Alex Focus]. The idea of forming the foundation is principally based on the way he was living as a teenager, beginning on the street.
Unfortunately, the emergence of the rebel war left everyone screaming for survival. Mr Foday Fofanah [Alex Focus] lost his mother to the brutal gruesome rebel war in 1992. At age 14, he faced and endured many challenges. Which motivated him to work harder as he grew up. While struggling in the street of Freetown, Alex experienced homeless, neglected poverty and humiliation.
Fortunately, with the help of some friends who assisted him greatly, he managed to fend for a living and succeeded in attending school.
He was eventually able to travel abroad to seek greener pasture. On arrival in Europe in 2005, he started building humanitarian organizations dedicated to the less privileged particular persons living with physical disabilities.
He had to face this new challenge as a way of giving back to society for the support he received during his trying time after fleeing the war from kono in the early 1990s. Being a non profitable organization, the Alex Focus Charity organization started operations in early 2009 as an organization whose mission is to give a better life to less privileged people across Sierra Leone.
Throughout the years, Mr Fofanah has donated huge quantities of foods, clothes, and equipment like wheelchair, crutches, and money using his personal fund.
His work and initiatives for the organization in providing the needed support for those living in deplorable condition across Sierra Leone and have greatly benefited the underprivileged of our country and thus been recognized by many agencies in Sierra Leone, Dubai, Algeria, Australia, Belgium, France , Turkey and the United States of America. Mr Fofanah's new venture is to build a skills training center for people with disabilities all over Sierra Leone. In order for them to learn new skills and improve their livelihood.
